Bluetooth Car Receiver/Stereo Information:

Aftermarket Car stereos/head units are getting more sophisticated and can handle multiple functions. Car stereo systems make it easier for drivers to play music though their cell phones, receive phone calls and more. The main advantage of having a Bluetooth stereo is that no wires/cables are needed.

Since Bluetooth stereos are becoming well-known especially in California, many car enthusiasts are upgrading their factory stereos for better sound quality. Before you upgrade your stereo consider the following:

Make sure that that you can replace and interchange you head unit because some carmakers makes it hard to replace the existing one. There many head units out there, so make sure you pick the one that fits your needs. Having a Bluetooth built-in stereo is something you should really look into to be able to receive phone calls hands-free. There many brand name car stereos with Bluetooth technology such as Sony, Dual and more.

What if your car stereo is Bluetooth ready?
There are two ways to use your Bluetooth cell phone with your car stereo:

1. Using a Universal Bluetooth kit that works in any car:
Universal Bluetooth kits work in most cars and with any car stereo. Some Bluetooth kits are very limited and come with a small speaker and microphone that clip to your sun visor and don't interface with the car stereo at all. Bluetooth Kits of this kind are useful because you can move them from one car to another. The disadvantage of that is that their use is limited to hands-free calling.

2. Using an Adapter that connects to a Bluetooth ready stereo:
This is a good choice if you have an aftermarket stereo or you are planning to upgrade your factory unit. Make sure that the Bluetooth Adapter is compatible with your stereo.
